A tribute…

Around 9.25am, a great man I called ah gong finally passed away at the age of 81  after a 2 year battle.

No, there was no pain. Nothing. It was painless compared to the suffering during his lifetime, battling with old age and waiting for HIS time. I’m glad he went off  peacefully in the arms of his beloved ones. Most of us were there before he died.

We kinda expected because he has not been himself for days. Refusing to eat, too weak to move and caling our names repeatedly.

I was there on Thursday, holding up my tears as he has really aged since the last time I saw him. Surprisingly, he remembered me well, calling my name when I asked him.

At the funeral, nobody cried. The mood was quiet solemn but there were the occassionally laughter and remembrance. We chose to embrace his death and celebrate his life instead.

This picture was taken exactly a year ago at my cousin’s wedding. The only picture I had with him.

Hope you rest in peace now.
