By Jade

Jade comes from my chinese name, ‘yuk’. Loosely translated my full name it means yellow precious jade. Funny, huh? No idea why my grandpa choose this name. Maybe I looked like one when I was born. But my parents should have seen the ‘damage’ in permitting him to use it. Everyone, even the Chinese communities had difficulties in pronouncing my name. Therefore, I was known as PG (my initial) till I enter college. Lately, I started to like the name, it sound special with some sense of royalty :D

Enough with the history of my name.Let us get intimate…!

LAW student in reality, love to be stuck in a world of my own, daydreaming about my ‘wonderful’ future

I’m a voracious reader which is why I choose law but later found out that reading cases, long judgement and super thick textbook is not the same as reading John Grisham’s book :(

Love endless shopping, watching TV and F1 (I like it because of the sports itself, not because of some cute guys although no doubt Kimi is good looking  ;) ) Currently into ALL sort of drama, US, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and etc.

Enjoys good food and company. Cannot said no to ice cream,  dark chocolate and cakes.

Also a perfectionist, like to be acknowledged as the smart, self-confident and independent type but has a bad sense of direction, bad driving skill and freak out at the smallest things…

HATE cocky people who underestimate others, sexist, racist, bias and discrimination.

Zero tolerance when it comes to tardiness.

Dislike people who raised their eyebrows when they knew I was malay/english educated. Hello…I can speak fluent mandarin and are quite well verse in Chinese history, cultures and traditions compared to you! Give me a few more years and I’ll do better than them.

Inspired by Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr, I believe in democracy, human’s rights, equality, respect and karma. Mark my words. What goes around will DEFINITELY comes around…

My dream or goal is to make the world a better place. Impossible? Maybe but if each one of us give our best, we would be able to create a world without poverty, famine and slavery.

    Hey Jade,

Came across your blog by accident. You are Malay/English educated student but speaks fluent Mandarin and well versed in Chinese history. Care to elaborate how you got there? I’m English educated too but lacking in the Mandarin department, oh well! So, any tips to accelerate the discovery of my “roots” are much welcomed!

Cheers and keep up the good work.

    Best regards,
    Damien
