I had the BEST Christmas eve dinner yesterday.
At the one and ONLY Le Kuek a.k.a Kuek’s house.
The dinner was supposed to start at 8pm but I went there early to see if Kuek needs any help in the kitchen. Although he kept insisted that he and his friend will be able to handle the situation, I still feel bad for letting him doing the rest of the work.
Upon entering the kitchen, I can feel the heat emitted from the oven and stove as if we were in a sauna. And the kitchen…hhmmm…what word should I use to describe? chaotic or ’war zone’?
Before I could offer my help, he ‘halau’ us from the kitchen, saying that our presence is putting pressure on him. While leaving, this caught my eyes.
Fascinating, huh?
Wait till you see this…
Setting of the table. Don’t you feel like admiring Kuek’s professionalism?
Here’s a close up of where I’m sitting…
We waited for an hour before dinner is served. Even-though our stomach was growling, we still wait patiently without complaining. Better not put anymore pressure on him.
Alas, our appetizer…
Tomato tart!

I liked the crust, the cheese, the tomato. Might as well just said I enjoyed eating the tart. One piece is really not enough to satisfy my hunger. I wished I could have more.
Meanwhile, Choon Hoong and Eelaine were trying their best to open the wine. Don’t ask me why we were struggling. All I can said is maybe they were in a hungry condition therefore lacked the energy.
For starter, we’ve risotto…
A very filling meal which I’m going to ask Kuek to teach me. Hopefully it’ll turn out as good as his.
Next, for main course, we first have lasagna
then lamb rack!!!
The yellow sauce is a mixture of yogurt and curry powder and the brownish one was from the lamb.
By far, this is the best. No regret of going extra mile to secure this lamb.
As for dessert, we have creme brulee which I specifically asked Kuek to prepare.
By the time we finished dinner, it’s almost 11.30pm. All of us gathered around to begin our countdown for Christmas.
