Getting Older

Once, someone told me that when you turned 20, the time suddenly moved at a fast pace. Whooshing away in a blink of eye.

As I turned 22 today, I truly believed what they said.

I really DETEST getting old. Who doesn’t??? :( Is there a way to stay 20 forever? I’m willing to do ANYTHING…

But no killing and drinking blood and any insane acts. LOL!

Enough of all the depressed whining. Let’s talk about something happy (or touching).

While waiting for the clock to strike 12am (to signify me getting older), my beloved Kah Mun called me all the way from Sg. Petani. So that she could have the line all to herself in case it goes jam-packed later.

*chuckled*

Silly girl but I was touched nonetheless. Then we go on reminiscing our childhoods. Despite being in different colleges and living apart, it’s a miracle we still remained close after all these years. For those of you who are still in dark, this is the girl who I spent half my life with. 16 long years!!!

After the phone call, there were already a huge pile of SMS-es on my cell phone. Each with its special and sweet wishes. To the senders of the SMS-es, thanks a lot for making me smile. I had the sweetest dream on that night. :D

In the morning, after waking up, I went online (my everyday ritual) and logged into Facebook. Imagine my surprise when I saw tons of birthday wishes on The Wall. And this continues throughout the day.

The day just got better and better when I retrieved a card in my mailbox. A birthday card from Kah Mun. My heart melted on the spot. Lovely card with a long long message, as if she’s writing me a letter. No, I’m not complaining. Just ecstatic of her mushy-ness.

At night, May and Afzan (her-not-so-malay-boyfriend-with-a-thick-Australian-accent) treated me to dinner. They brought me to Bossa Nova, a fantastic Brazilian-grilled restaurant in Parkroyal. I fell in love with the place immediately. The alluring ambience’s somehow transported me to Brazil.

Dinner was supposed to be buffet-style with a lil’ bit of twist. Instead of me standing up and walking to the counter to pick the food, the chef will came to the table and personally carve the meat right on my plate. Isn’t it wonderful? The last time I had something similar was in Singapore where Hooi Li treated us to a Christmas Eve dinner somewhere in Bukit Timah. Never thought this concept will surface in KL.

They served variety of meats, mostly high quality prime cut imported from Brazil and Argentina. Aside from that, they also served appetizers (20+ selection to choose from) and desserts. But this required the traditional buffet-style i.e me walking over to the counter to grab the food.

Oh..did I mention that they have a dance floor? Accompany by a band, everybody can party during or after dinner. They even have a tapas bar to indulge in.

Towards the end of the meal, the band personally sang me a Happy Birthday song. I was red all over the face, because the chef and waitress join in the singing too. Okay..maybe it was also partially due to the Mojito I had.

It’s almost midnight as I was writing this post. Time to get some sleep after an exciting day. Hope the time goes slowly after tonight. I don’t want to turn 23 so soon… :P
