When the news of the opening of the 2 shopping malls was announced, I couldn’t think of anything but to visit the place. Finally got the chance today due to the long Hari Raya weekend break. In the beginning I wasn’t so enthusiastic about going in the weekend because the mall would be crowded with people. You know how I hate looking for a place to park and queuing. But Mum and Dad was excited about visiting the new malls so reluctantly I tagged along. They were thinking of covering the 2 HUGE malls in one day.

We went to Pavilion first as it was nearer. I was in complete awe when I stepped into the mall. The place is huge and pretty. Where have the old BBGS gone? I never knew the school was this big before. The whole architecture was grand, I must say. I feel so small…

20% of their tenants are mainly new foreign brands such as Club Monaco, Mooks, Marc Jaacobs (*faint*), Alexander McQueen (*double faint*), Hermes (*triple faint*) and Juciy Couture ( finally they are here). Not fogetting J. Co Donuts, the donuts most Indonesian crave for. I heard the longest queue they ever had in their Indonesian outlet is around 21 metres!!!

Malaysia people don’t want to lose out too, I guess. The queue was already quite long when I reached there. So kiasu! Haha. I’m also one of them. While queuing, I can’t seemed to get my eyes off the yummy array of donuts. Looking at them is more than enough to make me drool. I don’t know which to choose. All looked delicious. They even come in cute names, Al Capone, Miss Green T etc. I wonder if I can have EVERYTHING! (sticking my face at the glass)

No. No. You can’t let people know you are THAT gluttony.

LOL. However, I did get 1/2 dozen of it. When it was my turn to choose the donuts, there wasn’t much choice left Coco Loco was not in sight. So I settled for something similar, a mixture of chocolate and banana. A few seconds later, my eyes sparkled when the crew start arranging some freshly made donuts. My Coco Loco is there! As fast as lighting, I alerted the crew and asked them to change it for me. I know I sound picky but when it comes to food, I want the best and nobody can stop me.

On the same floor, it also housed an international food supermarket called Mercato, the 1st in Malaysia, I heard. Something like Isetan supermarket but on a bigger scale. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the size and the amount of international food they carried. It’s so little compared to the one I encounter in Bangkok. Nothing beat Gourmet Market in Siam Paragon. Not even a bit.

Next stop, we headed to The Gardens. Well, this is not the 1st time I’ve been there. I visited Robinsons with my cousin a week before. That shouldn’t count as I’ve yet to cover the entire mall. As soon as I reached there, I went into Robinsons. I’m still very much enchanted by the great stuf they offered. The bags, shoes and clothes…I’m speechless. I want EVERYTHING!

We had dinner at Din Tai Fung because I begged them to have it. I used to have it when I was in Singapore. Quite good and all their outlet in Singapore is packed with people. For the 2nd time in a day, I feel crushed. The food does not really come up to the standard that I want or should I said, the one in Singapore. Don’t ever waste your money on this.

I considered Malaysia a newbie in the shopping scene. The 2 malls added up couldn’t even compete with our neighbours. Singapore has shopping mall on almost every corner of the island while Bangkok has the largest mall (Central World) in South East Asia and Hong Kong. At least we are keeping up and not left behind.

Who will wake up early in the morning, let’s say about 5.00am to have breakfast at McDonald’s?

Yep…yep (nodding my head) We had it just a few hours earlier.

This may sound insane to some but my partially dysfunctional family lived by it. To us, McDonald’s is the best thing ever created on earth. We just can’t get enough of its delicious, warm meal.

As a matter of fact, I grew up having McDonald’s. My first taste of it was about 10 years ago, when I was 2 years old, eating a HUGE McEgg all by myself. When you are barely 2, the burger does looked huge. I just fell in love with it immediately. Since then, every week, without failed, dad will bring me to the McDonald’s outlet in Fajar Supermarket, Malacca. It was the 1st McDonald’s store in Malacca and till today, it still stand there, unchanged by the development surroundings it. Probably not many people visited the place nowadays but the place hold an early memories of my childhood.

Isn’t it nice to have a place to eat a great meal when everything  failed?

I always think that whenever McDonald’s need to cast a family in an advertisement, they SHOULD come to us. We’ll definitely sell more burgers based on our passion towards McDonald’s.

Pity my car!

In less than 6 months, it has been sent to the car workshop for 2 times. Today is the 3rd time and hopefully the last.

I was the one who officiated the ‘bang car syndrome’. Hit it against my porch wall while parking the car. Don’t ask me how I banged it. (driver’s seat door)

The second time was a month or two later involving my brother. He accidentally hit a motorcyclist when he made a turning into a petrol station. (passenger’s seat door)

So today, the most serious by far, my mum damaged the bumper while driving in a roundabout. She was lost at that time, unsure of where to go. Miraculously, she managed to get home, after making a detour to Kepong and Damansara.

BUT the most kesian is obviously my dad. His pockets must be running dry by now. And he could still laughed when I talked to him on the phone.

My PC got a name NOW…

I never expect my brother to go so far this time. I know he’s obsessed with every technie stuff and I know the PC is his ‘wife’ and he dote on it. But to the extent of naming this black square machine??? I don’t feel good about it. It’s just not right.

Nothing special, right?

When he told me, I went like Yvonne who? I mean there must be someone he named it after. Unfortunately, there’s no one. He just happened to like the name. 

Then another hurricane strike. He named the car too. I should address the car as Nanako (taken from Nanako Matsushima) from now on.

My goodness, why can’t he just leave them alone? So sickening +o(

My dad locked the wooden door AGAIN. He always seemed to forgot that I do not own a pair of keys to the door. Dunno how many times had I reminded him to get me one. His ‘lou yan chi ngoi ching’ (Alzheimer’s disease) is getting worse, I presumed. Doesn’t he realized that getting locked outside the house in the middle of the night is extremely dangerous especially for her precious daughter?  I’m quoting him actually. He said so about a few months ago when I came home at 3.30am. Same incident happened and I was stucked in the darkness for half an hour because everyone chose to ignore my pledge.

It’s like experiencing de javu. Same place, same reason but different time. In fact, I was home early around 9.30pm.

Guess what he said. I nearly fell when I heard him.

“eh…u r home already? So early? We r still at ur aunt’s place…”

“but…pa! i’m can’t go in. u locked the door againnnn….”

“did i? no worries, we r heading back now”

He wasn’t expecting me to be home that early. And all the while he was mad at me for gallivanting around the town till late at night. Suddenly, such a huge contrast in his attitude!

In the darkness where fear dominated me, I sms-ed Carmen. Telling them how ‘cham’ I was, having to ‘mou’ outside my house. Within minutes, she and Kit Wan was outside my house. They came back after seeing my SMS as they couldn’t let me standing there alone. So nice of them, I never expect them to come back just to accompany me. I guess this is what friends are for. To be there when you needed them the most….

As a result of all the stupidity, I couldn’t join the Hwang clan on a trip back to Yong Peng.

Hope the elders does not mind my absence. Next year too.

Called it the Chinese New Year spirit or the need to attract the “Prosperity God” to the house because my house looked BRIGHT red this year.

As long as I can remember, my dad never failed to decorate the house with tanglung and ong lai (pineapple) each time the new year arrive. It’s one of the tradition he still held on to despite the evolution of modern Chinese New Year. In fact, it’s on its way to extinction especially in KL where young people are too busy with work and life.

However, this year, I think my dad went overboard with the decoration. He choose to add in more tanglung (he bought 8 as the number symbolize prosperity in chinese) and bought bigger ong lai. His reason : our house looked big so the tanglung and ong lai need to be big too in order to complement with each other.

*aduh*

Our house is the only one in the neighbourhood with the most and biggest decoration for CNY.I  doubt any other house can beat my dad. My guess is if they start doing so, my dad will buy MORE next year…

Chinese are so kiasu when it comes to everything! 

Not the first time I’m having a ‘heart attack’ due to the malfunctioning of the internet connection. The last time was when the earthquake in Taiwan screwed up all the cables in the Asian region.

When I found out I couldn’t log in somewhere in the evening, I freaked out immediately. What has happen to my precious modem or internet connection? Why must it happen when my tech savvy brother is not around? Damn…bad luck! Looked like I had to fix the problem myself in order not to be label as a PBT( Princess Bodoh Teknologi) by him. Anyway, it’s his fault I turned out to be so retarded, never teaches me how the handle the PC whenever its decided to give up on me (KO)

For someone as clueless as me, the appropriate way is to call up the TMNet customer service hotline to complain about their inefficiency. Gosh…waited forever to get through and the background music annoyed me. I was told by the lady that it has nothing to do with my account, in fact it was active. No fault on their part. This means there must be something wrong with my modem settings.

I guess the lady could sense my panicky voice because she passed my call to some technie guy. “Probably he can help you in fixing the problem,” said the nice lady. It get even worst because I had no idea what the guy was saying and asking. How to fix the problem when I don’t know what’s a sprinter? (not sure if this is spell correctly) Totally gave up after trying so hard to understand. Poor guy!

I ending up calling my brother who’s in Malacca. Already predicted he’ll make a big fuss over my retardiness.

“U ingat I’m your technician-slave guy? Always bother me….”

Die…no internet connection till he comes back and he’s not coming back for another 3 weeks. In the moment of desperation, I tried to solve the problem my way. I unplug all the cables connecting to the modem and plug it back. I know I know, it’s STUPID but the unexplainable happens….

Internet is back to normal!!!

This is the 2nd time someone pissed me off by telling me the ending of Death Note (manga or movie).

First, it comes from the idiotic brother. Told him countless times I rather watch or read it myself. As bullhead as he’s and the enjoyment of seeing me going mad, he continue to harrass me with the narration of the entire stories.

Enough of enduring ‘ear’ harrassment from my brother, another idiotic friend of mine did the same thing again.Why? Why? Why?

I stopped him the moment I heard THE words…Death Note. People who are smart would stop or at least ask why but this…this idiotic guy continue to spit out the stories (faster than a bullet train) without even giving me the chance to close my ears.

Urghhhh…Wong Chan Wah, wait till the next time I see you. Going to cekik you to death…

From now on, whoever dares to tell me the ENDING will be shoot to death on the spot. I’m seriously NOT kidding.

Merry Christmas!!!

This tall, huge Christmas Tree has been with my family for almost 10 years.

Aunt Betty bought it for us as me and my brothers are mesmerised by the tree each time we saw one at the mall. Back then, we would stand for hours just by looking at the tree. When it was time to go, we would create chaos by throwing tantrum thus causing embarrassment to my parents

Until now, I’m still mesmerised by the tree although both my brothers had outgrown from their childhood’s obsession.

My mum and I decided to dress it RED this year hence the red ball, red ribbon and etc.
